Soapstone:
Hard, shiny black/grey stuff. The most widely available cannabis variety in England. Not the nicest smoke in the world, often contaminated by diesel fumes due to the smuggling method. Your bog standard smoke really, usually burned and crumbled into a spliff or a mix. Some people cut up the solid rather than burn and crumble as this preserves the potency. A stronger concentration of the special THC is found is cannabis, but unless smoked through a bong or similar smoking device the tastes can be somewhat harsh. Also an easy substance to crumble into food or hot drinks such as coffee.
Squidgy black:
As above but can be rolled into desired shape i.e. a long line to put straight into a skin for an even smoke throughout.
Gold/red seal:
Taken from the top of the pot of resin, this is supposed to be somewhat nicer than your average solid cannabis but personal experience suggests otherwise.
Pollen:
Nice powdery cannabis sometimes overpriced because nicer than your usual solid. Mellow, relaxing wholesome stuff.
Power Skunk:
Rare indeed, probably one of those Amsterdam coffee shop delights. Actually makes you lose control of your senses for about 5-10 mins. Strong - very, very strong.
Northern Lights:
Very nice weed indeed. A true classic smoke, rare in UK though.
Weed:
Green coloured stem and leaves that is ripped up and smoked in a spliff. A lower concentration of THC, but a nicer smoke than cannabis. The taste is a lot easier as well
Charrice:
Different type of cannabis. A nice mellow smoke that is very crumbly. Can smell like red wine.
Mole:
Classic term for a mix of cannabis and tobacco. You put your solid in a pan and heat gently and stir till it breaks down. Then add to your favoured tobacco and use as you please in a bong or a pipe.
Skunk:
The best bet for a habitual smoker. Lovely strong buds from a beautiful plant. This stuff is the mainstay of most smokers in England. Usually in good supply. This stuff makes you feel good every time you smoke it, no "mongness" just a nice high.
Purple haze:
Named initially for its colour. A skunk variety, that offers a unique experience. A dream-like quite uplifting experience, that has been likened to the journey upwards of mushrooms and LSD. Very rare in the UK, but recommended by many avid users.
